Red Lion. In honour of Sin City.
(You have no idea how difficult this was without photoshop.)
Ok, so we just saw Sin City. It looks amazing. I was going to write and in depth review, but I can't really be bothered. Basically, lots of violence, anti-heroes and naked women running around the place.
The pace of it was a little slow, like flipping through a series of comics. So, I guess it just means it stuck close to the feel of the source material. I've never read it so I can't comment on the accuracy.
The way stories weaved in and out of each other wasn't novel but it worked.
I'm starting to lose my train of thought.
Extreme violence in a film has to be justified. Either by an emotional lever or by having an extremely well written and performed character that's given a reason to get away with. This didn't really have that. Even the cop, who was the best bet for it, didn't really pull it off for me. Strangely though, Marv did.
I can't think of a coherent way to wrap this up and I'm submitting things to DA at the same time and want to get it over with so I can eat and kiss Naomi lots. Maybe I'll come back to it after time thinking about it.
For now, done.
